Ballet Folklorico de Mexico: Feel the heat of Mexico

I seem to be getting a bit of a National Opera addiction

Second time to the London Coliseum in the last six weeks, and I have loved every breathless moment!

This time I was there to embrace the colours, sounds and pace of the Mexicans with a folk dance troupe that was so high energy I was grooving along in my seat.. And my lucky birthday companion was cutting loose in the aisles with a very lithe Mexican performer!

With some of the most amazing costumes (inspired by Dolce & Gabbana?!) I have ever seen – the flamboyance, vitality and animation of the show made summer in the city seem like a very spicy affair.

I was lucky enough to witness of one of the five London performances, and I think I might have to dig out my dance shoes and re-watch Riverdance! Or Saturday Night Fever. The Mexicans ooze sensuality! Even the ones with droopy moustaches playing the jarana jarochas (Mexican version of a ukulele). Well maybe not!

Take me back to Mexico.. The Day of The Dead, the pyramids, Isla Mujeres, guaranteed sunshine. And avacados. What is not to love?!?
