I got my first commission for Family Traveller magazine writing about taking my teenage niece to Morocco. We discovered the hidden delights of Rabat and Tangier before hitting undoubtedly our favourite find – laidback Chefchaouen.
This was my wild card as, hidden in the Rif Mountains, the small city with its array blue walls, narrow pathways and hidden staircases meant that there was a treat at every corner, and it was the perfect introduction to the manic medinas and museums in Marrakech.
